The 19th Annual Ms. Full-Figured Pageant is roaring into the Big Apple, even bigger–pun intended–and better, than ever! The wildly popular extravaganza is poised once again to thrill and dazzle a sold-out crowd of appreciative spectators on Sunday, December 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Midtown, 440 West 57th Street in New York City. The colorful pageant will feature 14 lovely plus sized ladies (sizes 16-24) competing for the Ms. Full-Figured title, and the accompanying $5,000 prize, all there to prove that beauty doesn’t have a particular size.
The pageant is hosted this year by reality tv star Sharon Quinn from the Oxygen Network’s acclaimed “Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance,” who is also currently appearing on MTV’s Emmy Award winning makeover show, “Made,” on which she was a “Made Coach” for a plus-sized teen who desired to be a runway model. Joining Sharon with the hosting duties is well-known fashion commentator Kyle Abercrombie. The JT Productions spectacle was carefully crafted by its founder, Theresa “Sparkle” Randolph; Ms. Randolph has guided the pageant for 19 years and grown it into anticipated annual event.
The ladies will compete in eveningwear, loungewear and question & answer segments. They will also perform a lively choreographed dance number.
This year, the pageant has an illustrious panel of judges on board; they are:
Sharon Dumas-Pugh – Founder & President of Detroit’s Full And Fabulous organization,
which is currently embroiled in an appearance no-show controversy with celebrity Star Jones
R&B songstress Mikki Howard
“Last Comic Standing” finalist, comedienne Roz G
Divabetic organization founder, Max Szedek
Soap opera actor, Phillip Whitney
Since the average American woman is not the traditional fashion model size, this pageant represents–and has always represented—real women. These beautiful, self-assured ladies prove that there is MORE TO LOVE with the 2007 Ms. Full-Figured Pageant!
